Lost Confidence? Can You Remember Where You Left It?

Lost confidence. It feels horrible doesn't it? The lower your confidence is the harder it appears to be to regain it.

The great news though is that once you understand the cause, the solution seems an awful lot more achievable.

If I challenged you to a competition where the loser would be the one whose confidence was eroded in the quickest time, what strategy would you use to win?

I know what I would do.

  • I would want to watch over your every move like a hawk
  • I would encourage you to focus on things that you didn't want
  • I would criticise you regardless of what you did or said
  • I would repeatedly inform you that you were never going to win, that you simply weren't good enough, and that frankly I couldn't understand why you hadn't given up trying to win yet
  • "Just settle for surviving and don't delude yourself with thoughts of victory" I would continually shout at you

Lost Confidence Not a very enjoyable or productive game admittedly, but unwittingly we have been playing this game all of our lives, and in most cases whoever is oldest or biggest usually wins.

So the little guy, or the child is nearly always the loser, and what is the price of defeat?
