Interpreting Your Emotions The intensity of the feelings is determined by the strength of your desire for that which you want. The stronger you want something the more intense the negative feelings when you are moving in the opposite direction and the greater the positive feelings when you are moving towards it.

If we relate this directly to self confidence:

You feel naturally self confident when you are focused on the successful achievement of that which you have chosen to want.

You feel lacking in confidence (a state of mind supported by negative feelings) when you are focused on what you don't want and you don't believe in your ability to be successful.
